    Hillsboro / Kingston
Hillsboro was the site of the famed trial over the death of Col. Albert J. Fountain. The courthouse ruins are still there. Today, retirees, artists, miners, ranchers, and writers make up the population. The Victorio Hotel and other old buildings still stand and there are today 32 permanent residents.

Percha BankKingston is the classic portrait of an Old West boom town. After silver was found in 1882 the community grew to 7,000 practically overnight. Today, this town located just west of Hillsboro at the edge of the Black Range is home to several independent souls who find the slow pace and solitude refreshing.
